Local Priorities Drug driving Concern Update |
I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Drink driving, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Based on information passed to us from the community a driver was stopped and arrested having tested positive for cannabis at the road side. As a result of blood toxicology testing the driver was found to be in excess of the specified legal limit - CHARGED to court where if convicted the driver will likely receive a driving ban. Very grateful to members of the public who provided this information allowing us to intervene and prevent death and injury on the road. If you know of anyone driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol please contact police via 101, online or speak with a member of your local Neighbourhood Policing Team. Always dial 999 in an emergency If you ever experience this issue or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at https://www.northyorkshire.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.
Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
